A sub-seven minute lap time of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife was the final objective in the development programme for the P1, the most technologically advanced car ever produced in the UK To get under the 7 minute lap time you need to be doing an average speed in excess of 178 km/h (111 mph) around the (13 mile) circuit. Along with the high average speed you need to navigate around more than 150 corners, negoiate 300 metres of elevation changes and handle cornering forces of up to 2g.
