The is a video clip of Shimabukuro Zenpo () , performing kata Wanshu. This form is almost identical to the other Shorin-ryu versions. He learned the form from his father Zenryo (1909-1969) who in turn learned it from Kyan Chotoku (1870-1945). Most documentation states that Kyan was taught the kata by Maeda Peichin (). Maeda, a student o two famous Tomari-te teachers, Uku Gigo (1800-1850) and Teruya Kisei (1904-1864), are believed to be responsible for passing the Wanshu form on to Maeda. Some documents state that Uku and Teruya were students of Makabe Choken (1769-1825) and that the form may have come through him.
