This song is from Nicole Borger's 2015 album Raízes, a celebration of her life story. Produced and arranged by the legendary Frank London, Raízes bridges America, Brazil and Yiddishkeit in Borger's choices of repertoire and arrangements, which turn traditional and contemporary Jewish songs such as “Yidl Mitn Fidl,” “Abi Gezunt,” “Bulbes” or “S’Iz Nito Kein Nekhtn” into Brazilian bossa novas, baiaos and frevos. It’s a story also told in her writing her own Portuguese versions of the original Yiddish lyrics.
