Greetings from Thank you for watching the jothishi channel. We are hereby publishing a series of videos on Indian Temples and its significance. Sri Kalahasti Temple This temple is famous for worshipping Lord Shiva in the form of Kaalhasteshwara. The Kalahasti temple is named after a Spider (Sri), a Snake (Kala) and an Elephant (Hasti) who all worshipped Lord Shiva to attain liberation or moksha. It is also believed that the small hill nearby the temple is considered to be equivalent to Himalayan Kailas. Therefore, the Kalahasti temple is popularly referred to as Kailas of south or Dakshina Kailasam. The self-manifested (Swayambhu) lingam is considered to be one of the Panchabhoota lingam (made up of wind, water, fire, earth and ether).
