iGEM UDEM Jul 6, 2025 This webinar was delivered by Samuel King, who is a Bioengineering Ph.D. student in Stanford’s Schools of Engineering and Medicine, and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. Before starting graduate school, he completed his . Honors in Biology at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada. At UBC, Samuel served as the Director of the iGEM team and Biodesign team, as well as the President of the Biological Sciences Society. Right after finishing his undergraduate degree, he worked as a Research Scientist in UBC’s School of Biomedical Engineering while also founding and leading a biotech startup focused on spatial genomics. He has also been involved in educational initiatives, founding a science teaching platform for high school students and developing multiple undergraduate bioengineering courses. As a Ph.D. student, he is currently conducting research at the interface of synthetic biology and artificial intelligence in Dr. Brian Hie’s laboratory at the Arc Institute. Original from here:
