Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Toronto on Friday to talk affordable housing. The PM was met with the sound of boos and protest chants shouted over loudspeakers by protesters, both left and right-wing, who had gathered to express their outrage at Trudeau over several issues. Trudeau also said his government is taking steps to ensure all elections, including the 2019 federal election, are protected from meddling by foreign powers or actors. Finally, the Prime Minister of Canada repeated his assertion that the SNC-Lavalin scandal was due to a “breakdown of trust“ between him and Jody Wilson-Raybould. EDITOR’S NOTE: This story has been updated to clarify that the prime minister’s comments were disrupted by protesters, rather than drowned out.
