A Roman castle built in the Jordanian desert in the early 4th century, also known as Mobene. Still surprisingly very much intact and in the middle of nowhere. Qasr Bshir, in latin Castra Praetorii Mobeni or Praetorium Mobeni , Arabic قصر بشير , also known as Qasr Beshir, Qasr Bashir and Bser, is a late Roman military fortress whose crew was responsible for security and surveillance tasks on the front Limes Arabiae et Palestinae in the late ancient province of Arabia.
