Nabonidus Petroglyph | Nabonidus Horseman, Tayma | Neo Babylonian Empire |Desert Drive by FJ cruiser

This was the 8th day of our solo overlanding expedition in the desert of Saudi Arabia. This day, we go into the desert between Al Ula and Tayma in search of a petroglyph of Horseman. This petroglyph is of Nabonidus, the last king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire. Nabonidus spent ten years in Tayma, leaving his son Belshazzar in charge of Babylon. Nabonidus worshipped the moon god Sîn and not the city god Marduk. He also liked history and archaeology and restored many ancient temples. We drove there by FJ Cruiser. It was a good desert drive through soft sand and rock beds. The place is very secluded and you won't find anyone there. Hence, you are advised not to go there alone.
