Before the pandemic, sumo fans witnessed an amazing championship run in January 2020. After spending 12 of sumo’s previous 13 grand tournaments in the second-tier juryo division, Tokushōryū Makoto energized the sumo world by winning his first title with a 14-1 record. After completing his victory with a win over ozeki Takakeisho, the 181-cm, 188-kg wrestler broke down in tears of joy. Tokushōryū Makoto is 35 years old now but his still on the top division ranking Maegashira #15 last July Tournament. Its unlikely that he'll win another Yusho but based on what he did last January 2020, he showed us and other Rikishis that anything is possible. Thank you so much for the love and support!
