Various shots of people in fancy dress costumes (Edwardian style) sitting in old vintage cars. Several shots of the Donnybrook to Bray run, large crowds line the streets to witness the spectacle. Notes: We have been told the rally actually began in Donnybrook, Co Dublin (original notes said London) and travelled to Bray which is situated just outside Dublin. This rally took place on the 24th June 1939. Like the 1938 Old Crocks Rally, this too was organised by the 'Leinster Motor Club'. Car No.1 which comes in to shot at 31 seconds in is a 1901 Argyll. It was manufactured in Scotland and exported to Dublin where it was noted to be one of the first cars in the city. It remained in the same families ownership in Dublin until around the mid 1940's. Cataloguer's note: The soundtrack for this item is missing. 90,000 historic films, all SEARCHABLE on YouTube at: Join us on Facebook at: Tweet us [club201327013|@britishpathe] FILM ID: A VID
