Inspired by the Karelian laments. Music: Lassi Logrén ”The Karelian lament, or itkuvirsi, is an extraordinary expressive form found in eastern Finland and Soviet Karelia that uses music, language, gesture, and the icons of crying to communicate affect and power.” Jouhikko is made by Rauno Nieminen, horse hair strings. The tuning is C#4, G#3, D#4. ——————————— I’m a Finnish folk musician, currently based in Oslo. My main instruments are fiddle and jouhikko (Finnish bowed lyre), I also play for ex nyckelharpa and mandolin. %C... MY MAIN BANDS: VÄRTTINÄ FREIJA
