Demo for my new one is a rare butterscotch finish, limited edition. The Gibson Custom Shop 1958 Les Pal Standard VOS (Vintage Original Spec) guitar has a carved plain maple top and solid mahogany back and sides. The rounded-profile neck is one piece mahogany with original style truss rod. Dual Burstbucker pickups, tone and volume controls that use original CTS pots and bumblebee capacitors deliver a truly vintage sound. I wrote Gibson custom shop and here’s what thay had to say, “Hi Jason, We’ve found the production total for the “Butterscotch“ finish for your R8 Les Paul VOS, the Custom Shop did indicate that it was less than 25. We’ve determined that these were a limited run produced exclusively for Canadian distribution, and they shared the same specs as our other ’58 VOS models. Thank you for your inquiry.“
