Marek Weber und sein Orchester - Wenn du treulos bist (When You Are Unfaithful) Tango (Ralph Benatzky), Electrola 1929 (Germany) NOTE: Marek Weber came from the Polish-Jewish family in Lwów, where before WW1 he received his high school education and violin classes. In age of 18 he travelled to Berlin to continue his musical education. In 1920s he was very succesfull in Berlin, performing as bandleader of his own dance orchestra, with which he also started the long series of excellent hot-dance recordings for the Carl Lindstroem record companies in Germany (Beka, Parlophon) to sign in later with the Deutsche Grammophon (Electrola, His Master's Voice, Polydor). In 1930s he left nazi Germany and started the new era of his musical career in the US. Called “The King of Waltz“, he secured for himself through the 1940s and 50s the solid position on the Golden List of the 20th Century dance orchestra bandleaders.
