Trimming a mouldy plate, which you’ll quick see once I turn through the outer layer of nice clay to reveal festering grey beneath. I won’t deny it, they stick, but the mould disappears quickly as the clay dries and will be totally eradicated once bisque fired to 1000ºC. It got this way simply as I let clay sit in the reclaim bucket for an age, which at least may have benefited the stoneware’s throw-ability somewhat. They say that the micros, bacteria? Whatever is in there, eats the mouldy clay and then well, disposes of it, a process that makes the clay more plastic and easier to throw with. You’ve just got to put up with its stench. #plate #tableware #satisfying #mould #asmr #art
