SOLAR PLEXUS was a high profile jazz rock band from Stockholm formed in 1969. The band was fronted by the popular singer Tommy KORBERG and the sound was in large oriented around keyboard playing of talented Monica DOMINIQUE. More prolific artists that joined the group were guitarist George WADENIUS and drummer Tommy BORGUDD from MADE IN SWEDEN, with whom some comparisons to the sound can be made. SOLAR PLEXUS however tried to embrace many elements which resulted in albums containing groovy psychedelic jazz tracks on one hand, and ambitious orchestral compositions sometimes crossing over to the genre of symphonic rock. Amongst progressive tracks like these, the band had no problem making more mainstream pop, gospel and funk material which made their albums even more diverse and eclectic (the albums themselves sung in Swedish but released in English as well). The band disbanded in 1976 after releasing four albums in total. Tracks: 01. Det Är Inte Båten Som Gungar — Det Är Havet Som Rör Sig — 00:00 02. The Girl Of The Dawn — 07:02 03.
