The sixth record of this solo project of Lord Rashnak, who is also recognized for his work with Utanförskap and his eponymous project, continues to carve out a unique niche in the dark and eclectic realms of dungeon synth and keller synth. While Khårst is traditionally known for straddling the line between dungeon synth and black metal, Advent sees a notable shift towards keller synth, which provides a stark contrast to the pure dungeon synth focus on the previous record. This record often pursues blackened textures and haunting vocals that are hallmarks of Lord Rashnak's style but not seen on all of his discography, while still transitioning to almost ethereal dungeon synth passages, which were frequent in the last record. At times, these keller synth sections feature rap-like vocals reminiscent of the dark, ominous tone found in Memphis rap, adding an unexpected yet fitting layer to the macabre ambiance, something that Lord Rashnak embraces further on his homonymous project.
