Back behind the handlebars once again! This time I'm operating my topless Gravely LI and Rotary Plow. When working ground with the rotary plow & Gravely powered machine, use barely any throttle. Hello torque. Also, use low gear on the LS or LI. I think the L is to fast. On machines with Hi-Lo range, I, along with Gravely manual, suggest using Lo range. Gear reduction wheels are an option as well. Paid 60$ for this stoutly powered non-smoking LI. It had a broken pinion shaft & did not run, I really wanted the ground speed of the LI so I loaded her up. Perfect speed for mowing. The guy said his buddy was snow-blowing over god only knows what pile or obstacle when it probably had the slip-clutches tightened up all thew way. Picked up a used pinion shaft from the internet for $13. Boom, saved it from the landfill and now I have a working machine for less than $75 bucks
