The Yonkers Police Motorcycle School was created in 1992 and started as a 5 day course. It has evolved into a 10 day instructional school that includes classroom, cone courses and field rides. Upon graduation all graduates are provided with a DCJS certified diploma. Throughout the years and through input from many different instructors from numerous agencies this school has developed into a challenging course that attracts potential motorcycle officers from throughout the New York Tri State area. This is a collaborative effort that includes instructors from MTA, NYPD, Yorktown(Sgt. Paul Dillon), New Castle, Greenburgh, Bedford, Clarkstown, Dutchess County, Putnam County, Westchester County and Stamford Ct. This school has an extraordinary success rate and is a credit to these very instructors. This years students came from the following departments: Yonkers, Mt.
