Bill Gates, the Co-Chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, in an interview with CNBC-TV18, sounded the alarm on stagnation in global health progress since 2020. Despite significant advancements between 2000 and 2020, when child mortality rates saw a remarkable decline, the past five years have seen a worrying plateau. Gates stressed the urgency of addressing this issue, emphasising that the world is “very off track“ in meeting the ambitious global health goals set in 2015 for 2030.
