Sometimes shown with the title “Land Of A Thousand Dances,” this much-recorded dance number was further popularized in 1965 by Cannibal & the Headhunters (who were first to add that ”naa na-na-na naa” hook) and in 1966 by Wilson Pickett . This is Kenner’s 45 single-edit version--minus the slow introduction from the original master tape included on some reissues--which reached #77 on Billboard’s Hot 100 in the summer of ’63.
