Record Field of 43 compete for Amateur Riders “Grand National“ at Steeplechasing's Ascot.“ Cheltenham, Gloucester High angle shot of the meet with horses circling the enclosure and setting off for the start. L/S as the race begins and they're off. Slow motion shots as the riders tackle one of the fences. The field continues rather scrappily over another fence and a couple fall. There is a tracking shot (from a car). The riders are seen approaching various fences and there are some bad falls. M/S of the stand as the crowd await the finish. High angle shot as the winner crosses the line. Intertitle reads: “ Fine Yarn - Mr Stevens up - wins by 2 lengths. “ The winner is seen being led into the enclosure.
