Scar wanted to be king since he was the oldest born but mufasa was set to be king and he chose Kiara to be his queen. Scar could never understand why would Kiara wanted to be with mufasa and not him. Scar carried out his plan to cut mufasa out of the picture and take the tittle as king so he would have Kiara as his queen. He does succeed in his plan but he ends up loosing everything because Kiara wanted nothing to do with scar since he took mufasa away from her.
