NEWS 12th November 2023 Cilla Kinross Tower cam will be replaced on Tuesday 14rh November. It will provide much clearer images with better zoom and pan capabilities. BUT there will be an outage for possibly two days before the image is available on YouTube. The nestlings (Marri, female and Barru, male) are now 42 and 41 days old, so could fledge any time now (average age of fledge here is 42 days). Males usually fledge first. Down is almost gone. The nestlings are now full grown. For the second time, Barru slips onto the outer ledge and has a very near fledge, but flies/scrambles back in After they fledge, they may return to the box after a few days (or not) . Either way they stay in the area for a month or two learning to hunt. And the parents still feed them during this period if needed. A comprehensive video on peregrine falcons is available by Sale and Watson introducing their new book on peregrines
