The release candidate of GNOME 45, whose beta version was announced on August 18, 2023 , was announced by Javier Jardón. We have announced to you that when a new version of the GNOME desktop environment arrives , the date of the next one is now determined, and according to the official release schedule on the GNOME wiki this year, GNOME 45 will be available on September 20, 2023 .The release candidate for GNOME 45 is now ready for testing ahead of the desktop's stable release later this month. It is stated that GNOME Calls now supports AES 256-bit crypto packets for SIP management, while new hand cursors and an updated spinner are said to be added to the Adwaita icon theme. The new version, which comes with code cleanups and fixes for the GDM image manager, also offers VT processing fixes, crash fix and improved SimpleDRM support for GDM. GNOME Builder offers improved Meson-based project templates, supports newer Sysprof features, and provides other fixes.
