In this video, Astolfo-Chan tells you a funny joke. This satirical dialogue is an analog to many prevalent subjects within internet “femboy“ culture. The dichotomy between joking, and desperation can often be hidden behind a thinly-veiled joke. It demonstrates the internal conflict of not truly being able to freely be oneself, testing the waters of interaction or community. The speaker, possibly unwittingly, puts forth a relatively exaggerated statement to analyze if such ideas are openly embraced within a given interaction. If so, they may be able to open up further about their true feelings. Utilizing the overexaggerated absurdity of the statement, they can hide behind the facet of a joke if it becomes clear that such ideas are unacceptable, and should only exist within the confines of a joke.
