Latin: O Radix Jesse, qui stas in signum populorum, super quem continebunt reges os suum, quem Gentes deprecabuntur: veni ad liberandum nos, jam noli tardare. From 17 to 23 December, the Liturgy sings the beautiful “O Antiphons“ of the Magnificat. Each of them begins with one of the titles with which the Old Testament invokes the longed-for Messiah, and ends with the acclamation “Veni“ (Come).
