So this one is titled 3.5 because not much progress has been made since last update. I'm a student and working on this project solo and haven't had a whole lot of free time to work on the game. I had also been getting a consistent crash that prevented me from getting any work done and I was finally and get that diagnosed and get the game up and running. I wanted to upload another quick video for a couple of reasons. 1)RTX Remix Toolkit is going to be released to open beta next week which hopefully means I can more easily get work done on this project and get it to a spot where I can release the mod. I'm not the most knowledgeable on anything with coding/game design/art design/anything like this so it's been a little bit of a struggle learning everything and like I said my hopes are that the toolkit will make the process a whole lot easier for me. (My issue was with the SSS implementation and I've had to remove that work I put in the last video. I don't think I did a great job with it anyway so not too big of a deal) 2)There's been a lot of complaints/suggestions about the previous videos lack of the OG games iconic yellow filter. The first parts of this video aim to somewhat recreate that filter. Within RTX remix I did this in probably 30 seconds. This is one of the easiest changes you can make in remix and customize it however you like. I'm not a fan of the filter so most videos in the future will likely not have it, this video I hope can be pointed to and ease the concerns of those people who are diehard fans of it, even if it's not a 1:1 match for the filter. When I finally release the mod I'll likely have 2 configs available: one being how I want the game to look and another being more faithful to the original games look. 3)I said I'd show off a new area in the last video but since not much work has been done there's not much to show off. The second clip in the video does show off a little bit of a new area so I'm not lying too bad lol. 4)I've worked a little bit on a bit of a night mode for the game. VERY VERY WIP and VERY VERY EARLY and I kinda just want to gauge interest in the mode. It's very low priority and the map really isn't designed to be played at night- there's a major lack of light sources in many areas so it'd be only lit by headlights of your car and looks really funky and bad a lot of the time. But still could be an interesting experience to try out for a little bit I think. I also just want to say a couple other things 1)I very much appreciate the kind words and support many of you leave left on my videos. I don't reply or like every comment but I do read them and it really is nice seeing so many people interested in this project. Thank you all :)! 2)For those interested there's an RTX Remix discord server and here you can see all kinds of other cool projects people are working on using RTX Remix to remaster tons of cool games. There's so many talented people here and I high suggest joining and spreading the love there. It's also a great starting place for those who are interested in doing their own Remix project. Lots of helpful people there and a really friendly community!
