It was honestly one of the coolest experiences of my life. From the moment I walked in, his family welcomed me like I was one of their own. They were so kind, warm, and hospitable, and I felt the love in their Kurdish home every second we were together. Despite being less than 2 feet tall, Afshin’s spirit is HUGE. He’s funny, positive, and full of life. Spending time with him reminded me that our size, background, or limits don’t define us — our attitude does.
