I've visited Carlinhos in Rio on a balmy arvo for some beers and a batucada.. the only instruments he had were (guess) CUICAS!! So I had to improvise a “bateria“ on one of them.. gee we had fun that day!! Carlinhos' Academia das Cuicas in Rio is the place to visit if you want to learn how to play this amazing instrument.
