Reem Acra Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear NYFW from NEW YORK, FEBRUARY 15, 2016 by LIANA SATENSTEIN There was an ode to the femme fatale, with echoes of barely there lingerie, on the Fall 2016 Reem Acra runway. “It’s the woman we all want to be,” said Acra. “It’s a very seductive collection.” It was indeed: Some dresses were so slinky they resembled burlesque slips with glimpses of garter belts peeking through their lacy, body-skimming silhouettes. There was also an air of covered-up mysteriousness, which is where Acra shined. The opening look, a black, cap-sleeve dress of intricate, embroidered lace, was both precious and sexy, with navel-grazing bare décolletage and a high Victoriana-esque collar that gave it a whiff of innocence.
