Pro-Palestine protesters disrupt University of Sheffield awards ceremony

An awards ceremony at the University of Sheffield was put on hold after a group of pro-Palestinian protestors stormed the stage at the event. The group chanted ‘free, free Palestine’ and told onlookers that they were demanding the institution cut all ties with universities in Israel, and any connections to the arms trade. One of the speakers taking part in the protest told the crowd that they were inspired by students in the US who have held similar action.
