MY NEW CHANNEL: Japan Airlines Flight 123, a Boeing 747SR was a flight between Tokyo (Haneda) and Osaka on August 12, 1985 with 524 people on board. The flight took place around the Obon holiday period, when many Japanese people make trips to their hometowns or take holidays. The Crash: The 747, had landed at Haneda from Chitose at 4:50pm and pushed back from the gate at 6:04pm. The flight took off from Runway 15L at 6:12pm. 12 minutes after take-off, the aircraft's aft pressure bulkhead burst open, which was damaged in a tailstrike 7 years ago. This caused an explosive decompression and caused the ceiling in the rear lavatory to come down. It also tore off the vertical stabiliser, damaging all 4 hydraulic lines. The aircraft then went through a cycle where the airplane pitches up and down, known as the phugoid cycle.
