If you’re looking for lightweight and breathable cycling shoes, it’s hard to beat a knit cycling shoe. In this review, we’ll be looking at the latest version of Fizik’s Vento Infinito Knit Carbon 2 shoes which combine a knitted upper with the high performance features of the Infinito cycling shoes. With a retail price of $ the shoes offer a breathable knit upper with heat fused TPU and a stiff R2 carbon outsole. The shoes also feature a dual BOA Li2 dial system to customize the fit as a part of their Volume Control System. Fizik also offers the shoes in a wide width variation as well as a limited edition blue Movistar Team variation. The upper is almost a one piece design with a slit cut down to accommodate a ventilated tongue on the front. If you look inside the shoe you can see the knitted upper is nearly transparent as the light is visible through the shoe. The Vento Infinito Knit Carbon shoes also feature a dual BOA Li2 closure system. This is the latest version of BOA’s dials which have low profile dials with micro tightening and describes the dual dial setup as a Volume Control System as you can independently adjust the ankle and toe boxes for a custom fit. The top dial controls a separate wrap-around strap that also provides arch support as you tighten the dial. The shoes also utilize textile webbing instead of plastic lace guides to balance tension and eliminate pressure points... ...
