Activists from the anti-capitalist movement ‘Blockupy’ are due to continue marching the streets of Frankfurt on March 18 to show their opposition to the European Union’s economic policies. Clashes broke out in Frankfurt earlier in the day as protesters attempted to halt the opening ceremony of the new European Central Bank (ECB) building. Protesters set up barricades around the building as hundreds of riot police were deployed to the scene.
