Tony Lavelli--Somerville Is My Home Town

Tony Lavelli (1926-1998), born in Somerville, Massachusetts, was a four-time All American basketball player at Yale. He was drafted by the Boston Celtics but agreed to play for them only on the condition that they pay him to play accordion at halftime. He played one season for the Celtics another for the New York Knicks. He went on to a successful career in entertainment.
