At the desk this week, we've got a fevah and the only cure is testing out the proto picowbell we fabbed this week. This board got a little distracted over the few months as parts started to come in, but we improved it in the meantime - now it has both a reset button and QT/Qwiic port & a nice silkscreen. let's try it out with the new CircuitPython release that adds Pico W WiFi support! We also have two stemma samples we put together: one is an IR blaster, and the other is a Si5351 QTification. The Great Search - Bright Side-emitting Infrared SMT LED For a small STEMMA board we designed and prototyped, we'd like to have it emit powerful IR pulses to turn on/off remote control devices. We've used through-hole IR LEDs before, they are interesting in that they are usually pulsed at 100mA-1A of current (not your regular 20mA)! However, for this design to stay easy-to-use we need to source SMT LEDs. So let's find a bright (80mW/sr or greater), infrared (940nm wavelength), side emitting LED.
