Note that I should have been pronouncing the name io as ee oh. I filmed this rare encounter with a Golden Hawaiian hawk on the Big Island of Hawaii. It was a privledge to have such an opportunity. Some consider the Hawaiin hawk an endangered species. And the Golden phase is even rarer. It is a juvenile light phase. This hawk is only found on the Big Island. The video also includes footage of the dark phase Hawaiian hawk that I filmed just after it had catured a rodent.
