FACEBOOK: TWITTER: WEBSITE: Here’s track #18, “Up Tempo 12/8 Blues Pop” from Jim Riley’s new book, “Survival Guide for the Modern Drummer”. Jim is the drummer for Rascal Flatts. This tune has a very “Steely Dan” type vibe and while the pattern is simple, its one of the hardest ones to keep in the pocket. Well, for me anyway. Jeff Porcaro and Steve Gadd were my two main influences on this.
