Ready, steady, NOM! Seahorses are syngnathids—meaning “fused jaw.” Instead of gulping their food, they attack it with a sudden slurping strike. Note: The “smoke” snorted from the back of the seahorse’s head isn’t a sign it’s transforming into a sea dragon—it’s a plume of oils and food bits exiting through the gill flap as the seahorse breathes out. You can see these Pacific seahorses in our newest special exhibition ¡Viva Baja! Life on the Edge: ____ Hey there! Hope you liked this video.
