This is the first half of the Wudang Taiji double fan form. The form was originally called “Yu Nü Shan“ and has it's origins in Wudang taiji and the Wudang mountains where master Pei Xirong first learned the form, probably in the 1920's. Master Gao Tieniao in turn learned it from master Pei. The Wudang taiji double fan form, when practiced well, will apply both the theory of yin-yang and five phases (wu xing). It must be performed in a fluid motion containing silk reeling power also prominent in taijiquan. Recorded during a class that master Gao Tieniao taught in Malmö, Sweden, in 2009.
