Named after the street the factory was located on, “Shabolovka”. The brewer was founded in 1863 by the Moscow merchants Dmitry Semenovich Karneeva and Vikenty Ivanovich Gorshanovym, who established a trading house of the 1st guild “Korneev, Gorshanov & Co.“ In 1906 the factory made million buckets of beer, employed 387 people and over 10 different kinds of beer, including pilsener, black velvet, porter and ale.
