The 2004-2008 Yamaha YZF-R1 is an amazing sportbike, but it has a weak point. This generation R1 used a unique high RPM gear-driven race-style flywheel that was known for the magnets coming loose. When this happens stator damage occurs, along with debris in the crankcase. RMSTATOR has developed a direct replacement flywheel for this motor with heavy-duty epoxy and encased magnets to prevent this from happening.
