Episode 4: CHAAMUNDI & MAHAA KAALI Sumba and Nisumbha, the two powerful and ruthless demons inflict untold atrocities on the dwellers of the earth and heaven. The gods and the sages are unable to perform sacrifices and hence they are weakened. Having fled heaven, they are in a pitiable plight and plead divine Mother. She assures them of refuge. Chanda and Munda, the demon attendants are enamoured of Goddess's beauty and informs the Sumbha-Nisumbha brothers about the bewitching beauty. The demons put forward their proposal of marriage, Devi rejects and challenges them to a dual. She assumes nine forms and destroys all the commanders of the demon army. Dhoomralochanan, Chanda-Munda and the entire row of demon ministers and ambassadors are all doomed and exterminated. Furious Kali who emerges from the shadow of Chamundi drinks every single drop of blood that drips off from the wound of Rakthabeejan and sends him to the abode of death. Chamundi and Kali vanquish the wicked Sumbha and Nisumbha at the end.
