For our penultimate feature this week, I bring you a split release of mystic forested fantasy dungeon synth from Frost Void and Altar of Moss. Imbued with a sense of the ancients that ties both sides of this release together, Frost Voids opening tracks begin with almost folk-like feel, before drifting gently towards a more whimsically melancholic introspection as the woodlands of Alta of Moss begin to grow towards it and reveal themselves on the B-side. Ysbryd’s two pieces of bristling, darker, shadowy synth ambience evoke the haunted woodlands of the deepest Welsh countryside. A transportive split to get lost in. Digital copes available from Ysbryd’s Nocturnal Curse Records bandcamp. Cassettes sill be available soon in an extended edition from the excellent Personal Uschi Records, with a bonus track from Frost Void.
