The Austrians suffered a decisive defeat at Nachod, but simultaneously, the Prussian I Corps under Adolf von Bonin found itself vulnerable in the open as it passed through Trautenau towards Pilníkov. The Austrians emerged as victors, although the casualties were high on both sides, with the Austrians losing around 5,000 men compared to the Prussian losses of 1,400. Despite the setback, the position of Austrian General Gablenz became untenable as the Prussian V Corps broke through at Nachod and the Prussian Guard Corps threatened his flanks. In an attempt to escape encirclement, Gablenz sacrificed a significant portion of Grivicic's brigade at Burkersdorf and Rudersdorf. In 1868, a monument weighing fifty tons was erected in Trautenau to commemorate the battle, with General Gablenz being buried beneath it.
