“My left fist is dead. But you know what? I still have one more.“ - Kamogawa Chester explained that In The End is a bittersweet song not knowing if it wants to be uplifiting or defeated. That sentiment fits well with the Kamogawa vs Anderson fight as Kamogawa sacrificed his boxing career to avenge his friend. So “In the end it doesn't even matter“ can both mean that even if he did win against Anderson it doesn't matter because he lost his fists but also that in the end it doesn't matter that he can't box anymore because he avenged his friend and he stood up as a beacon of hope for some of the people in post-war Japan. I thought of this AMV idea after I did the “Naruto - With You“ AMV. I went through some Linkin Park and coincidentally while listening to In The End, I saw a recommendation on Youtube for the last punch of Kamogawa vs Anderson and then I thought that that punch would go perfectly for the breakdown of In The End, both lyrically and instrumentally. Especially the line, “I put my trust in you“ which I thought of as Kamogawa putting his trust in Nekota. And even more thought that it was very symbolic with Kamogawa's fist imprinted in Anderson like it was both of their spirits coming together to deliver the punch.
