Join Mrs. M this week at Gammelgården Museum as she narrates “The Tomten“ by Swedish author, Astrid Lindgren! 🇸🇪 Although the story takes place during winter, it highlights the importance of a Tomten/Tomte in Swedish culture. ❄️ They are mythical creatures who act as protectors (as long as they are treated well) and are highly valued on farms. Here at Gammelgården Museum, we seek to preserve and educate people about the rich history of the Swedish immigrants who came to Minnesota in the 1850s. Featuring 5 historic buildings, we are the oldest Swedish settlement in Minnesota.
