'Jesus Christus unser Heiland' BWV 665 is taken from the 18 Choräle for organ, also known as the Leipziger Choräle, is a collection of chorale arrangements completed by Bach in the last decade of his life. The compositions in the collection date back to Bach's time as an organist in Weimar, Arnstadt, and Mühlhausen. The 18 Choräle represent a selection of Bach's earlier works, arranged and completed later in life.
