Connecting to Indigenous Culture in the Shuswap

Tanner Francois, a young member of the Little Shuswap Lake Indian Band, is the highlight of ITBC’s latest video and shares his moving story about connecting to his culture. The narrator of the video, Frank Antoine, is the cultural liaison at Quaaout Lodge & Spa at Talking Rock Golf and Tanner’s mentor. Frank has been instrumental in developing the lodge’s cultural experiences and combined, the two men carry on their culture and share traditions such as canoe tours, sweat lodges, medicinal plant and food harvesting and smudge ceremonies with visitors from around the world.
