-History: _The duchy of Brabant_ Pieter Breughel in Brussel is a song made by Yannes van de Velde. Allthough the song is not that old, it's sang in the Brabantian language by Yannes. Brabant was a Duchy under different kingdoms during the medieval period in Europe. Brabant was subjects from countries like Burgundy, Spain, Austria, the holy roman empire and the united provicnes (Netherlands). The duchy itself was desolved during the Napoleonic wars in where Napoleon disbanded the duchy and gave the north to its newly founded vassal state called the “Batavian Kingdom“. The southern part was integrated into France. Brabantian was more distinct from both Dutch and Flemish at the time but still Dutch and Flemish people would be able to understand Brabantian. Nowadays most people view it as a dialect of the Dutch language.
